Are you looking for a chance to make a big impact? We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and data-driven SEO Lead to join our Growth Marketing team. In this role you will be responsible for the strategic development, day-to-day execution, and ongoing optimisation of a robust SEO strategy. You will use tools and data to identify insights and prioritise a roadmap. You will work closely with your Marketing partners to create and execute a highly-optimized traffic-driving content strategy and partner with Product and Technology teams to tackle technical on-page opportunities. You are able to clearly and concisely articulate what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how it’s performing to partners and leaders alike. What you’ll do:
Build, implement and optimize SEO programs to address gaps in organic search performance, keyword planning and on-page optimization to reach page 1, position 1 for our target keywords.
Use search data (AHREFs, SEMrush, Google Trends), competitive analysis and other research tools to understand user intent to inform content strategies and identify business opportunities.
Create and own a robust backlink strategy – backlink audits and cleanup, metadata optimization, content analysis and upgrades, location analysis and landing pages, Google Search Console audit and optimization recommendations, keyword analysis, prospecting and link building outreach, working closely with our Head of Communications.
Own and manage our App Store Optimization (ASO) strategy including, but not limited to, product page experimentation, listing updates & optimizations, app store research, etc.
Align paid and organic search and ASO strategies to find cost efficiencies while maximizing business objectives.
Work with in-house Creative Services and external agency partners to produce a wide range of content including blog articles, how-to guides, community posts, site copy, etc. that is consistent with our brand voice, style, and tone.
Define SEO success metrics to be able to track, measure, and optimize performance against expectations and targets.
Partner with Product and Technology teams to implement best practice SEO processes throughout Kijiji and Kijiji Autos properties.
Be the SEO Marketing subject-matter expert on best-practices – define search-driven guidelines and requirements for page content, copy, URL structure, page titles, meta descriptions, headings, anchor text, internal linking, etc.
Keep current with the latest digital & SEO industry trends such as speed, voice search, AI, machine learning automation, omnichannel search optimization, and more.
5+ years experience in a SEO or Content Marketing role (DTC, retail/e-commerce industry experience preferred)
You have a proven track record of SEO management experience for highly competitive keyword groups
You are proactive with the ability to define and execute projects independently.
You are results-driven, always using data to inform, measure, and share your outcomes to stakeholders and partners.
You have a strong knowledge of SEO best practices, algorithm updates, search ranking factors, and hands-on experience with keyword research, on-page optimization, with an understanding of site architecture fundamentals and taxonomy.
You are experienced in developing content gap analysis, leveraging search trends and data to inform content decisions.
You have extensive knowledge of and hands-on experience with SEMRush, AHREFs, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console.
You have strong analytical skills, and experience with web analytics tools like Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Amplitude etc.
You are familiar with industry-leading CMS and project management tools
You have a demonstrated ability to provide keyword forecasts and performance reports around core SEO metrics, including backlinks, keyword ranking and traffic
Experience working in an Agile Marketing/Product environment an asset
You have experience working with and coaching writers to deliver high quality content which meets or exceeds content brief specifications
You have strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and manage priorities and deadlines.
