Company offices are based in Vienna and London, but we are switching to a remote-first approach to working. We have been operating remotely since the pandemic started, but we do offer office space as well. We would prefer candidates from Vienna and London, but it is also fine if you live somewhere nearby and are ok with periodic visits to the office in Vienna for team events, meetups or conferences.

Mission and Impact 

Help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our infrastructure. As an experienced Systems Engineer, you will have a high impact on the decision making of the architecture of the infrastructure. You will work together with 3 other great colleagues that are always ready to help each other out.


As a member of the infrastructure team, you will be an important driver of our cloud-migration strategy, gradually moving our system from running on-premise to the cloud. 

The tech stack consists of

  • Database layer: mongoDB, elasticsearch, redis, memcache
  • Application layer: Openshift
  • Automation: SaltStack, Terraform
  • Monitoring: Grafana, Prometheus
  • Alerting: Sensu, PagerDuty

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain DB backends and load balancing infrastructure and optimize them to adapt to heavy production workload
  • Plan, coordinate and execute OS, DB and service upgrades
  • Maintain monitoring stack (Sensu, Elk, Prometheus) and plan and execute upgrades
  • Domains / DNS maintenance
  • Help build, maintain and optimize our containerized API and application stack (OpenShift)
  • Maintain our internal VPN infrastructure
  • Maintain iptables based firewall across infrastructure
  • Automate toil generating processes
  • Exchange and collaborate closely with our Dev-Team
  • On-call duties

Company Description

Your profile:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Relevant and strong experience as a System Engineer or similar role 
  • 3+ years of relevant experience using linux or unix environments, debian or ubuntu 
  • Experience with NoSQL,  ideally with MongoDB
  • Experience with Bash, Python
  • Experience maintaining elasticsearch clusters
  • OpenShift, OKD or K8s
  • Very good understanding and knowledge of networking and application-level operations
  • Ability to quickly diagnose issues and suggest solutions
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

Additional Information

Austrian law requires us to post the minimum salary according to the collective agreement. This is EUR 50.000,- gross per year. We offer a market conform salary in line with your qualifications and experience. We will treat your application in strict confidence.
