Job Description

The Payroll Manager is accountable for leading payroll operations worldwide, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with local regulations. This role will be accountable for leading and maintaining a safe, updated and efficient outsourced payroll process. This role will manage the payroll vendor processing payroll on behalf of Adevinta and will drive process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead full-cycle payroll process with accuracy and compliance and supervise the payroll provider performance and tracking of the different KPIs
  • Operational sign-off commissions
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of wages and salaries including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Execute standards of operations to be applied in the different countries across Adevinta
  • Ensure that outsourced payroll provider has all the processes documented and country specifics are taken into account and compliant with local regulations
  • Manage the relationship with Payroll provider responsible for reporting, analysis and model maintenance support
  • Responsible for the overall performance of the team, monitoring their performance and providing timely feedback
  • Ensure the timely completion of all payroll tax reporting requirements
  • Identify and recommend updates, improvements and automations to payroll process, systems, and procedures in the different countries
  • Maintain and update payroll policies and procedures flows to document the processes changes
  • Supervise and directs in-house payroll resources
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
  • Support and drive transformation for all payroll activities


  • Moderate working experience from a similar role ideally within an international company in a global setting utilising outsource provider
  • Graduate degree and/or applicable professional qualification in payroll is an advantage
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll tools and function including preparation, balancing, internal control and payroll taxes
  • Experience in Workday and excel is an advantage
  • Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities
  • Works in a structured and focused way also when approaching new challenges and is solution and business oriented
  • Good sense of order and systematic in working routines
  • Proven continuous improvement, transformation and change management experience in a finance and technology environment
  • Deadline orientated, takes ownership and ensures that the work is completed
  • Constructive, positive and collaborative attitude also when meeting challenges under time pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to challenge & collaborate
