Job Description

We’re Adevinta, a global leader in digital marketplaces. Our household name brands, including Marktplaats in the Netherlands, Mobile.de in Germany and Leboncoin in France, reach hundreds of millions of people every month across 16 countries.

We’re all about matchmaking, and our sites help people find whatever they’re looking for in their local communities – whether it’s a car, an apartment, a sofa or a new job. Every connection made or item found makes a difference by creating a world where people share more and waste less.

Global Tech Hubs in Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin support our brands. Their goal is to develop common global products and innovation platforms which our brands can use. This means using cutting edge technology to create scalable, customisable and secure products and components that free up development time and leverage our access to global data.

Our team of Enablers is in charge of supporting the global Product and Tech organisation to engage and collaborate effectively with our local marketplaces. Enablers are the point of contact between our products and users and their mission is to closely understand our marketplaces’ problems and find out how to solve them by designing effective ways to get things done that don’t rely solely on scalable products.

Our ML area is building a platform that will help our teams develop smart products based on the valuable data that we handle every day. That new platform focuses on allowing our teams composed of Data Engineers and Data Scientists to explore big amounts of data with ease, to experiment and validate hypotheses on fast iterations, develop and optimise machine learning models, and use those models to build intelligent services.

We are looking for an experienced ML engineer to help enable and grow the adoption of our ML platform in Paris.

Your role will involve:

  • Work together with other teams to understand their current processes and missing opportunities and help them onboard our platform and services, track their progress and learn from their feedback.
  • Work on solutions to cover those needs, which might involve either exploring the state of the art of existing solutions, developing new ones or something in between.
  • Work with a wide spectrum of technologies (Kubernetes, AWS, Spark, Kafka, Machine Learning frameworks and tools, Argo CD, build systems and languages), together with interdisciplinary teams composed of software/data/machine learning engineers, data scientists, analysts and product specialists.
  • Help us build a modern data and machine learning platform that will be used by other teams in a variety of use cases such as classification, personalised experience, custom search, recommenders, image recognition, fraud detection, and so forth.

Company Description

  • You speak French and you like helping other teams growing their knowledge by sharing best practices around Data Engineering and Machine Learning development.
  • Experience working with teams dealing with data engineering, data science and/or machine learning, and have an overall understanding on what makes it unique with respect to the general processes for software development.
  • You understand the fundamentals of machine learning algorithms although you might not have strong experience implementing them.
  • You are not afraid of DevOps, and understand that automating your delivery processes, and dealing with infrastructure is as important as writing lines of code, documenting, or communicating your achievements.
  • The desire to be constantly learning and see the coming challenges as a great opportunity to keep growing.
  • Preferably you have experience in large matrix organisations with many stakeholders and global products.
